UmYup is an innovative service that allows homeowners to exchange their details with other homeowners.  This means that homeowners can build a 'waiting list' of prospective buyers should they decide to sell their property.  It also means that subscribers can contact other homeowners who have properties in which they are interested should they decide to sell their property.  It's a very simple idea and thousands of people have subscribed to the service since it was launched.

 

However, at the moment we have been unable to clarify the position of UmYup users in relation to Home Information Packs (HIPs). UmYup users are not marketing their properties, they are just getting a feel for the property market.  Therefore we believe that UmYup users should not be required to produce a Home Information Pack (HIPs) until they decide to sell their property.

 

Until we are able to definitively establish that UmYup users do not need to produce a Home Information Pack (HIPs), we have decided to suspend the service to protect our users.

 

The UmYup site has been suspended with immediate effect as have all accounts. Registered users will be emailed to make them aware of this development.

 

We are continuing to work on further clarification of this issue. However, for the moment, you understand that we cannot put our users in a position where they might be required to produce a Home Information Pack (HIPs) for a home that is not even on the market!

 

 We would like to thank the many people who helped promote the idea and who took it upon themselves to spread the word about UmYup. Particularly we would like to thank the innovators, the trail blazers and the insightful - those thousands of people who signed up to UmYup.
